Hillsborough County Sinkhole Attorney - New Building Code

Sinkhole Chopper Video

One Florida county Sinkhole Attorney notes that the County Commission is set to vote on a change in the County’s building code in order to provide residents with greater protections from potential sinkhole damage. The change calls for foundations to be reinforced with extra steel in sinkhole prone areas. Although some are skeptical about the tougher building code, an attorney believes that “[a]dding steel or reinforcing the slab will certainly prevent a lot of minor damage.” Regardless, it is believed the new regulations will help Florida County homeowners because it will lower the cost of sinkhole insurance premiums.
